Dos Tierras means Two Lands, reflecting the sources of the two amazing fibers found in this ultra-soft yarn - Peruvian alpaca and Uruguayan Merino wool.
Dos Tierras is an 8 ply yarn available in a range of amazing kettle-dyed semi-solid and variegated colours. Colour variation can be very subtle to quite noticeable and the manufacturer suggests working from 2 balls at once to ensure random colour variation. Working with the yarn results in some transfer of colour to the skin. This washes off with soap and water.
Dos Tierras provides good stitch definition and is suitable for lace work, cables and textured stitches. It has a beautiful drape making it as versatile as it is beautiful. Dos Tierras has a multi-season character and is suitable for items worn next to the skin.
