ABOUT US
Teeanelle is owned and operated by Tim and Louise Wood.
The property is a small alpaca farm in the hinterland of the far south coast of NSW.
It took us just minutes after arriving to inspect the property in late 2014 to know that this was the one for us - everything we wanted to do we could do here. The property is surrounded by the peace and tranquility of nature - the only sound being birdsong, the wind in the trees and the babbling of the creek that forms our northern boundary. Set on 36 acres, the property provided us the space and resources to lead a more self-sufficient and sustainable life. While the house needed work we could see its potential. What we didn't realise at the time, being farm buying newbies, was that the fences also needed work as did the water infrastructure and paddocks, and a farm really needs outbuildings which were totally lacking.
Alpacas became part of our life in 2017. After years of enjoying alpacas at agricultural shows we attended a workshop at a local alpaca breeder's property which confirmed for us that alpacas were the livestock for our farm. We set about readying our property for the arrival of our first five girls: Whisper, Daisy, Enola, Martina and Tatu. We have been slowly building our herd ever since with a focus on breeding for high quality fleece and temperament.
While I have always enjoyed knitting and crochet and more recently weaving, the ever increasing number of fleeces nearly filling our spare room (no outbuildings!!) meant things needed to get serious – and so the Fibre Yarn Textiles component of our farm was born.
